My mom keeps on yapping to me about body types. Shes always saying something dumb like “no matter how much you work out, you’ll never look like a body builder because of your body type.” Genuinely just normie cope. It pisses me off hearing her talk about fitness to me so often when she only knows disinformation like high reps to tone the muscle
Makes me mad

Anyways I’m at derma rn so hopefully I bag some accutane so I can save some money

It’s not cope, I’ve been working out for 10 years, take steroids, and look at my shitty stats. It’s mostly genetics.

Your mum actually sounds intelligent.
Most normies think you go in the gym and accidentally end up looking like a bodybuilder.

She says no matter how much/long I work out I will never build muscle or gain weight

This is what she means, obviously genetics play a big factor. But she thinks going to the gym won’t do anything at all

If your first day at the gym is shit and you can’t bench the bar etc it’s highly likely you will never see enough progress to achieve a decent body without roids. I’ve never seen anyone increase their lifts to any more than 6x their untrained stat.

Body type is your Frame not necessarily muscle building abilities.

Someone can have no muscle but still look mesomorphic due to wide shoulders

I benched very little when I started around 40kg, 60kg after a month and got up to nearly 130kg after a few years so it’s not always accurate.

Although I seemed to do very good at dips and pull ups adding weight after a few weeks

Also there are some people who can bench only 100kg or so and still have a mogger body due to better response, muscle bellies, frame ect

I am saying when I started I could 1RM 15kg (not even a proper bar, was using 1 inch bar) on bench, your stats are more like average than the truly terrible start that leads to a terrible end.

Nah she’s right how u look like starting lifting is what you’re gonna look like just a bigger version. Your mom is just real. U can change it around a bit but it’s not gonna be crazy

Why do some people have an extremely small base, weak ect but after a few years look like a new person, pushing 140 for reps ect ?

Just a very lucky response to PEDs I guess ?

She’s actually not wrong tho, if you don’t have wide clavs, a slim waist, or certain muscle insertion you won’t look like any of the bodybuilders that you ogle at:lul::forcedsmile:

I’ve never actually seen a case of that, the “small and weak” is too subjective. Most guys claiming “small and weak” would mog me to the grave pre-steroids.

Dunno what his lifts were when he started.
Visually I was even worse than his earliest pics when I started lifting.

He also has visibly wide clavicles from the start which as you said earlier lets you have a good looking physique without actually needing such high muscle mass (I do believe muscle mass and strength are directly correlated tbh)

He clearly built a huge amount of muscle relative to his joints.

He looked like he had 6 inch wrists. I have 7 inch wrists at 6’1 which are small and they struggle sometimes. I’m sure that caps me for arm size at least

This. You only look good with muscle if you have the bones and insertions which is genetic

Yeah I’m not sure joints are the limiting factor in these cases, I’m tending to think it’s muscle fibre count which is genetically determined and can’t normally be increased (maybe HGH can increase it).

If wrists can handle deadlifts then surely they can handle upper body development.

Okay well then that’s retarded unless you have the shittiest genes on earth, or ur test is as low as Jackfitness’

Typically when you have high muscle fibre count, your muscle bellies are naturally already very full and dense.

I think there are some factors that we don’t even know about. Generally it’s a huge interconnection of different factors

It pretty much just comes down to gymcel and hope for the best. Genetics do the rest.
But there are definitely signs that tend to predict the outcome if maybe not 100% accurate.

I went from 60lbs to repping 100lbs in around 5-6 weeks (cant remember exactly)
Though I haven’t worked out in a couple months because I was busy wageslaving
Starting to lock in again though, I’m gonna start track cals again soon

If my bench pr was 95lb my first day at the gym at 13 what do you predict my frame to be rn at 18

He was talking about aesthetics
How much you bench had nothing to with frame
