Not really true, because bodybuilding along with certain positions in American football (like linebackers) are the most genetically based "sports" out there.

Now, for bodybuilding, it's not the same genetics and traits that would lead you to become an amazing athlete in other respects. But it's still more genetically based. You can train better, harder, smarter, etc, rest more, have a better diet, take more steroids, and still look inferior to someone doing far less - purely because of genes.

Genes for insertions, muscle bellies, how much mass you can gain, response to PEDs, proportions. If you aren't genetically elite, blasting all the roids in the world will just lead you to your grave (Bostin Loyd).

Basketball leans too much on excessive height over actual athletic attributes

You don't need the explosiveness, speed, etc of an NFL linebacker or the punching power, hand-eye coordination, and endurance of a boxer. And for a lot of the track and field events you're just fucked unless you are genetically elite in those.

but its not a sport and its a waste of time + mental masturbation

I didn't say it was good for your brain. I said you need to be an genetic athletic freak to play certain positions in football at a professional level, like linebacker and runningback. There are slow guys in the NBA who get injuries all the time and who are just there for being 7 feet tall and don't have much athletic abilities otherwise.

Yeah making fun of someone for gymmaxxing doesn't work anymore considering it's just a default normie thing now. Not going to the gym is odd now. Brutal SMV creep

@Kamui since you're doing boxing, what do you think are the most athletically genetically demanding sports out there? I think boxing has got to be up there because you need speed, power, and also the endurance to go the full 12 rounds. But you also need good reach and proportions and the hand eye coordination to have great technique.

People forget hand eye coordination and reaction times are also highly genetic. Floyd had some of the craziest reaction times in sports I've seen, which is probably a lot of the reason why his defense was so legendary.

I’d say it’s a mixed bag since I only have experience in boxing and nothing else, but for just being physically demanding overall it’s gotta be wrestling, the conditioning that you need to have to be able to wrestle is legitimately insane, even more so than legit boxers and other MMA fighters

True, I think you really need to do it since childhood because of the amounts of knowledge and experience required to deal with all the different kinds of grapples. It's kind of sad the culture of the sport in the US being so unfriendly to adult learners though, BJJ has the whole reddit Joe Rogan microbrew tactical soap audience on lock whereas you are out of luck if you want to go learn to wrestle as an adult.

It’s always been a Normie trait though
