The issue is not gaining bone mass. Bone smashing should be understood as a temporary, filler-like effect. When you repeatedly hit a specific area, the tissue swells, which creates the appearance of added volume. Over time, that swelling subsides.
In my own experience, bone smashing has never resulted in actual bone growth. It simply causes temporary swelling after impact, which then gradually goes down.
