Even though I am 5'10 people who are 6'4 seem like giants tbh, although its only a 6 inch difference height, it seems much greater....

When you look at someone, you examine their height from your own eyes, which ofc are a few inches lower than the top of your head.
See, here is 5'8 next to 6'4 (just to make it more obvious):

Even someone at 6'0 seems way taller than just an extra 2 inches above me.

im not underrating height, but I would never put it above face and if I were to pick between 6'4 6 incher and 5'10 8 incher with same face, I would pick the 5'10 8 incher
