Yea I like reading novels every now and then but make no mistake this shit is no lesser cope that just binge watching anime all day. The meme about writing being deep/important or whatever bullshit just a yet another cope coming from ugly intellectual snobs. Fact of the matter is the world isn't deep and there is nothing in books that's of any true importance that you can't obtain through experience. The only possible exception is learning material for the hard sciences. Otherwise books are bullshit copes for the most part, just like any other form of entertainment. You aren't smarter because you read or even write for that matter. Ultimately these things are just copes.

I like reading about human behaviour (philosophy + psychology). Also some other non fiction stuff every now and then . Yeah I agree with you though, reading fiction and then cucking yourself into thinking that you're learning something is very low IQ.

Reading improves your verbal intelligence and gives you ideas and perspectives. There is nothing magical on the pages that will make you a billionaire though which is why I hate the self improvement advice telling people to read
