I understand that, I should have gone for full-on hedonism but sadly I was SO wrong about what to do in HS (instead of studycelling). I was a straight A student throughout all those 4 years but all that meant nothing in the end. My dumbass boomer parents robbed me of 4 very important years (including major developmental milestones like teenage love and socializing) and I'm never getting those years back
Because of their bad parenting and priorities set for me, I'll always be socially stunted tbh

You can delude yourself into thinking you'll practice on your own but I can guarantee you won't if you aren't already, practicing with your team and just being there will allow you to learn the game and actually develop your skills

I said that assuming your team is competitive they'll want freshman to develop all at the same time, getting in as an older student will become harder and harder, it's not just making the team either tbh if your team isn't that serious then it would still mean getting playing time because of the prior experience you would have playing
