Boxing, of course. Better to have a body suited for fighting, rather than a huge, hulking body that will get you killed in a real fight.

what about avoiding sparing, i don’t really want to get hit in the head every week for no reason, i would do some other martial art but only boxing is available in my city

also will boxing help me in a street fight or bar fight, people online have very mixed opinions about this

Well, I guess you could buy a heavy bag or something. You don't necessarily have to go to a gym or anything. But, if you really want to win a street fight, you got to spar at least. You need physical contact to learn how to fight, it's like trying to learn how to write without actually writing anything, virtually impossible.

you can learn the technique without sparring but all that goes out the window if you find yourself in a real altercation and you have no experience sparring, if you don’t wanna get hit in the head try jiu jitsu so you can roll every day, also if you’re afraid of physical contact you probably shouldn’t fight anyways

i don’t want to fight but i want to be prepared if it comes to it, reading those posts about how normies got beat up in front of their girlfriends and they lost all respect for them and some masturbated to the guys who beat their bf up it was brutal

i would probably spar but not that often, im afraid im gonna get a retinal detachment cause i already have some floaters so that’s why i don’t want to do it

damn that’s so tough 🤯, but tbh if you live in an urban environment or you constantly go out to the city, it’s more likely you might have an altercation, however if you wanna avoid fights you should be putting urself in a situation like that, idk why those guys got their ass beat in front of their girl, but I’m sure it wasn’t for no reason, there’s no smoke without fire and most guys usually wanna act tough around their girl and end up getting fucked up, anyways bro you don’t gotta worry about injuries if u go to a reputable boxing gym and just don’t have an ego and you should be just fine.

i don’t have an ego i would try to calm them down and avoid a fight if i have any altercation with someone, but if you have a htb+ girlfriend some guys will try to pick a fight with you in front of your girlfriend

yeah that’s a fair point, people are gonna fuck with u if u got a hot girlfriend. Well first think of it as a compliment that u bagged a girl like that, second, you need to train and build a bigger frame. I know you’re scared of taking hits to the face during sparring but it’s not nearly as worse as getting fucked up in front of your girl. Sparring will benefit you in the long run and increase your confidence tremendously. Also being a coward is worse than getting ur ass beat remember that.

i have shit frame, im skinny and not wide, do you think looking like i can fight (bodybuilding) will be enough? i tried that when i was 16 and i put on some good muscle and was bigger then than im currently now (19)

im afraid that boxing focuses more on endurance and i will still look skinny after training, also street fights end in like 10 seconds so all that goes out the window

also i want to stay skinny cause my face looks bloated like barret after gaining a little weight and i want to keep my hollow cheeks

Sparring can't be avoided if you decide to train. You have to spar to develop the muscle memory to reflexively dodge punches and get used to having hands thrown at you. Just go light. Put vaseline on your headgear so the punches that do land will slide off and not be as solid otherwise.

But boxing and any other fighting style mogs bodybuilding. Too much muscle requires more oxygen and you'll tire more. Everyone in the Rocky/Creed franchises, Stallone, Carl Weathers, Dolph Lundgren, would all be more efficient in a ring or cage because they ain't some huge hulks like Schwarzenegger or Jay Cutler.

you can do both bro, but you have to prioritise one slightly more than the other, for example if you’re focused on bodybuilding this should be your split 4-5 a week lifting, 2 times a week boxing and at least once a week sparring, if u wanna focus on fighting, you wanna box 3-4 times a week including sparring, and do 3 full body workouts a week. Of course you’ll be making slower progress than focusing on one completely but unless you commit to either this is ur best case scenario.
