i have a pretty serious overbite, and i'm going to be needing to put elastics on soon will they recess my maxilla? i am 16.

also, am not recessed on my mandible but there's still an overbite.

Premolar extractions and headgear will recess your maxilla. Elastic bands just bring the teeth closer together.

If ur fr than yeh ull end up with deeper folds and if ur already recessed in the chin than itll make u even more recessed if ur not recessed than it might make u more recessed

its not exaggerated i only said 2 things ull get deeper folds which is common sense and ull get recessed which is the whole point of type IIs
