Im 17 male and i'm on braces since 2 years. I don't wear rubber bands tho

No lol braces arnt that bad, you just got subhuman forward growth at 17 theres not too much you can do to improve it naturally ecpescially since you got braces

Just fixed your teeth, damaged the roots of them which isnt good but usually not much you can do to fix them, im researching for decent ways to fix my crooked teeth without braces as their roots already seem kinda shit, going to try some stuff results in 6 months

the problems with ortho is maxilla because for example rubber bands hard recessed you (unless you have already a rly good foward growth)
