Attention to every youngcell in here, as this can be the most important thread you will read. No matter what every retard and orthodontist tells you, do not get braces. Only okay treatment is braces and rubber bands for class 3 (underbite). Every single treament for class 2 (overbite) will recess your maxilla. Braces alone will limit the growth of maxilla 3 dimensionally, but combined with headgear or rubberbands for overbite/overjet will recess you severely and give you downward growth. And yes this applies even when not removing tooth. Removing teeth for more space is the worst. Orthodontists just want money and they are not knowledgeable on these topics as they only repeat the rules orthodontist institution has told them to follow. If you are young proper posture+beauty quadrants will fix your unideal bite. Also with class 2 most of the time your maxilla has just grown forward earlier and your jaw will follow in few years thus fixing the bite problem.
Only thing i would recommend is reverse headgear for class 3.

When a guy in here recommends braces, they either dont have knowledge on the topic or have had braces themselves and cant accept the fact of being recessed by their own choice. DO NOT listen to them or your orthodontist. Also to every newbie in here, your maxilla is far more important than your jaw.

Hope mods stickify this or something so every single one of these 13yo's will not make the same mistake I did. My midface went from modeltier to flat in 1.5years because of braces and headgear for overbite when I was 12yo

So I’m gonna be recessed? I had gaps and some minor crowding and got braces at 14, I didn’t have any bite issues

I have a crazy overbite so i reasearched a a ton. and the herbst appliance is really suportive for forward growth, also the marpe expansion really helps your zygoats to pop out more so ill defently get atleast the herbst appliance. also im very sad about my sister she got just how you said the tooth removal I luckily declined but i dont know how to tell my parents how bad it is
