NEW DELHI: In a dramatic turn of events, Indian authorities have arrested the notorious Looksmax.org user known as "Salludon," who had been a fugitive on the run for months after being accused of catfishing women on social media using heavily filtered images. The 33-year-old, whose real name has not been disclosed by authorities, was apprehended earlier this week while hiding in a remote cave in the Western Ghats.
"Salludon" first came under scrutiny when several women lodged complaints with the cybercrime division, alleging that they had been deceived into forming romantic relationships with a person who misrepresented his appearance online. The accused reportedly used advanced photo-editing techniques to alter his images, presenting himself as an attractive and wealthy individual. He worked a job as a valet parking driver for a luxury hotel in Mumbai, and would take photos of himself in the cars pretending they were his own.
The investigation revealed that "Salludon" had created multiple fake profiles across various social media platforms, luring unsuspecting women into conversations and, in some cases, extorting money from them under false pretenses. His actions have been described as a sophisticated form of catfishing, with authorities noting that he had meticulously planned his online persona to ensnare his victims.
After evading law enforcement for several months, "Salludon" fled to a remote cave in the Western Ghats, where he believed he could avoid capture. However, a tip-off led authorities to his hideout, where he was arrested after a two hour long standoff in which he held a large stick and threatened officers. The arrest involved a coordinated effort between local police, cybercrime investigators, mossad, and the international community at large; who had been tracking his digital footprint for weeks. Many say this is the biggest joint effort capture of a fugitive since Osama Bin Laden himself.
Following his arrest, "Salludon" was brought before a special court in Mumbai, where he was found guilty of multiple charges, including identity fraud, extortion, and cyberstalking. Given the severity of his crimes and the impact on his victims, the court handed down a life sentence, ensuring that he will spend the rest of his years behind bars in an Indian prison.

The Indian senate is in process of passing a new bill called The Salludon Bill which will outlaw the use of photo editing software & filters. This bill is receiving pushback from many influencers who use these filters to appear less Indian.
