Yeah don't be low IQ, but at least in my case, I ringfence every month $7k to invest, I really don't think it's insane to but $1k of that into cryptos tbh, and of that generally keep $500 in btc or eth (obv mix can change when market has shocks, or when BTC ETH dominance swings)

It's unprofitable in the long run tbh. If u really have extra money u can gamble on it but it will not going to be a worthwhile investment unless u have the prescience to know when it will peak.
There are way better investment with more stable and return.

I did reply, if u mean the recession one, and I actually think cryptos are here to stay, although 99% of the cryptos out there now will die, but I think as an asset class it is EASILY a 5-10tn play, well before 2030

Well u invest in many, and like I say BTC I believe, will be around.

I only invest in 7 or 8 cryptos out of the 80k that are out there cos I think they are widely and quickly being embedded in ecosystems.

I think there's another 30 or so out there right now that will survive but I'm too dumb to find them.

I'm only looking g for cryptos to 10x over next 8 years, so I don't need to go find those 30 other ones to chase a 100x

It's more than that.

The spectacular growth assumed on tech sector, as well as rate rises and possible demand contraction, mean bitcoins beta to tech stocks, or all stocks even, has fundamentally changed.

This could be a real new norm, I'm too dumb to say if it is or isn't, I'd side with yes though, and if so btc has become a pure risk on asset, not a hedge, and is going to have same issues

People panic for one of 2 reasons:

1) they think this is a legit end of crypto, it was app a fad, and they're all going to zero and only FIAT currencies and commodity derived currencies (which are anyway in fiat currencies jfl) are what's needed - I absolutely disagree with this

2) no typical and widely accepted way to value an asset can really be applied to cryptos, this means there is no intrinsic value - this i agree with 100%, but what one can say is that there is a market / liquidity effect which can determine price in everything but the very long term, and there is a hypothesis that as an alternate way of holding wealth this is legit, in my case I believe looking at all the wealth and derivatives globally, this can easily be 5-10tn

anyway, the people who were lucky enough to grab btc under $1 and hold on to it had a lot of fun

imagine playing around with a wallet of 1,000 btc and forgetting about it and rediscovering it a decade later

many people ended up with tens of millions, some with hundreds of millions. not sure how many billionaires

you have to shift your thinking entirely. the name of the game is risk management. how much risk can you handle? can you still sleep at night if btc or any other asset goes to 0? the rest is luck and timing. timing is the most important factor in success
