I work with two Mexicans at a Chinese restaurant here in Michigan. They're both US citizens because their mothers were living in Los Angeles illegally when they gave birth to them, but they both grew up in Guadalajara. They can barely speak English. They're living in an apartment within walking distance to work with about six other Mexicans who are all illegal. They told me that once every few months they rent a car and drive all their compadres to the neighboring town where there's a Western Union to send money back to Mexico. The two I work with always drive since if they end up getting pulled over they don't have to worry about getting deported since the cops can only ask the drivers to ID.
