Can 99% ethanol be used as a skincare product?

Okay,okay I might sound retarted but hear me out.
In theory it would work,acne is just a formation of bacteria on skin (mostly) and since ethanol kills bacteria would that mean that it would be useful against acne?
Keep in mind this kinda sounds stupid but I got the idea because anti biotic acne cream exists.

I’m allergic to most antibiotics expect things like benzoyl peroxide and a couple more.
