So my bluetooth earbuds were in need of charging and I took out the USB charger for my smartphone, and replaced it with the cable for my earbuds. I accidentally dropped the charger and picked it up and there was a long line of dust attached to it due to not cleaning my room in awhile. I wanted to get rid of it so I shook it off. I wondered if that disturbed the wee little spider in the corner near my bed but it didn't move. And then suddenly it moves back and forth like crazy, so fast I can barely see it. But then it came to a standstill again suddenly. What did I just witness? This is crazy, I've never seen a spider doing that before.

spider can shoot his venom straight from his anus

that's why when you try to pet it, aim for his head not his anus

Stick a stick in its anus then sing a Christmas carol

Toxic ass spiders.
in general, most of animals that have venom shoot it up from their anus so you have to be careful on whatever part of the body you touch

that's a myth.

google it, they most deliver venom straight from their anus, biologically that delivers more venom because the venom gets combined with it's feces

Spiders are easily frightened and are very fragile, too much stress can cause death for them. Even too large of a container can cause stress and death for them. I have a tarantula for example, any sudden movement and they will run instantly even outside of the cage.

Accurate, I'm an overthinker with OCD. Deathly combination. Doesn't help now that I may have killed the wee guy according to @Bug.

By observing its position I suppose, I have scared my spider accidentally, they come out hours later. They barely move. Check hours later or even tomorrow, drop an insect in its web and see if it feeds on it.

This is exactly what it did:

It's said to be a defense mechanism, so I'm hoping he's still alive. I don't want to scare it again so I'll just leave it be. He's been there for a while now. I like(d) it. :feelswhere::feelswah:

I wouldn't feel too bad though if it's dead @Gengar

They are very fragile even natural processes like molting can kill them for no reason lol.

No, it doesn't. It rarely moves at all. But it was that way before as well. So idk. Shouldn't it drop dead on the floor, if it were dead? I hope so, then at least I can be assured knowing this spidey is still alive.

Yes, but this was caused by me, so I'm going to be guilt-stricken for the next few hours or possibly days. Hadn't it been for my clumsiness, it would have still been chilling with me, all relaxed. Now it's either on high alert or dead. Fuck.

It would have helped if this spider moved, but all it does is chill somewhere for weeks, doesn't move an inch. I wonder how it survives. Leanmaxxing spider.

Spiders can last many months without food, but they need water every couple weeks. If you want the spider you should capture it and build an environment for it, it's probably already starving and dehydrated

I would like to capture it and feed it but I'm scared it will die if it isn't dead already. It already started whirling even though I wasn't paying attention to it or doing what I did near it. Then let alone how scared it would be if I were to come near it and tried to touch it. :feelswah:

Is it raised above? Get a container and capture it slowly. It will not be that stressed just make sure not to touch it at all directly
