Can anyone explain why does the maxilla grow downward and forwards

Isn't it supposed to grow forwards and upwards? since if it grows upwards there's more counterclockwise rotation = better occlusal plane and looks

Poor posture and shit, your body will always prioritize having a normal bite over the jaws growing in an ideal position so by doing bad habits n stuff that causes unideal development, maxilla will grow down. Things like sucking, posture, etc.
Small mandible will also cause the maxilla to grow down instead of forward

not what I'm asking, I'm asking isn't maxilla naturally supposed to grow forward and up? since the tongue guides the growth upwards

But instead its documented that in healthy people maxilla actually grows forward and down ( normal growth )

Well kind of but there are more things that affect it so for example gh mskes it grow forward and down so from that öerspective its supposed to be forward and downgrown so kind of no since there are multiple mechanisms at once
