@goat2x or they're only useful to crash everything backwards?

They can if ur upper/lower arch isnt wide enough, they push your teeth out a little bit
But forward projection looks bad...

Potruting teeth doesnt mean forward growth and you cant "fake" forward growth with potruding teeth.

It can be helpful and not harming sometimes.
Are those kind of braces installed at the back of teeth? Like lingual braces?

That’s independent
Each bracket has a slot where the arch is “trapped”

The design of that slot varies. The material of the wire varies...

You all are generalising.

braces can be useful tools. It depends on how they are used.

What are your thoughts on mewing?

I had my palate expanded from wearing braces during 2 years, I dont remember being able to fit my entire tongue on the roof of my mouth and I now am able to do so

Do u recall anything about ur first diagnosis?

Yes
My molars were tipping inwards so they had them going outwards by setting up a sort of palate expander (wasnt really one tbh) which caused my back teeth to go a bit overboard but I'm not complaining for the extra forward growth tbh
Then they told me i had to get extractions to get perfectly straight teeth and they never saw me again. Jfl

I haven’t really paid much attention to that.
Oral function is important, specially in kids. But trying to achieve real skeletal changes in adults by only using the tongue... 🤦‍♂️
That so-called mewing in adults probably produces more harm than good as, in my humble opinion, can affect the TMJs, produce tooth wear and muscle pain.

A different thing would be doing supervised miofuncional therapy (but never would change the face of an adult)
