Yes and no. Lacking projection of certain body part can be genetic, but this isn't a recession in the clinical sense.

If you look at newborns, they largely have the same fundamental facial structures and very rarely have recessions, unless they're born with a deformity. This what leads many researchers to believe (and I subscribe to the ideology) that recessions are almost always environmental/developmental/adaptative (or whatever you wanna call them)
yes, usually it's a mix of both genetic and environmental factors for most people

Genetics. But I think people downplay how much ur diet growing up and your overall habits as a baby to your kindergarten years can affect your bones.

It's a mix of genetics and habits/diet
My parents are recessed but I'm forward grown on the contrary
