This is a genuine question, because I struggle with binge eating a lot. The thing is, I don't take the piss like a lot of fat people (I go the gym regularly, eat a nutritious diet most of the time, etc...) so these urges seem exaggerated and intrusive.

Can external factors (e.g. depression, loneliness, unresolved issues, etc...) make food more tempting (as a cope)? Even after having "overcome" the habit several times (my weight has fluctuated a lot), I always end up turning to food again. It's like food is now entrenched into my mind and a cope, I know how good binging will make me feel in the moment.

I'm also not overweight, maybe 20% body fat.

Yes, things like depression and loneliness can make food feel way more tempting. Even if you eat well and work out, your brain can get stuck using food as a quick way to cope with stress or bad feelings. The key is to notice what triggers the urges and find other ways to handle those feelings like going for a walk or talking to someone. It’s normal to slip up, but each time you learn a bit more about yourself.

mk677 so you eat more

Yes, but being a leanmaxxer is 90% of being a looksmaxxer. You need to find other copes to offset being overweight.
