I heard if you get really good at chess, it sort of trains your intelligence or something.

does improving memory pretty much mean improving iq? lmaoidk about increasing your IQ but I noticed it helped me with visual memory and planning.
After a while of playing chess you can visualize multiple moves in advance, pretty much all top tier chess players can play blindfolded, they just memorize the whole board.
Now ofc its all about your potential tbh, not everyone will be able to play blindfold
I don’t think so, IQ usually doesn’t flucuate that much, especially if you’re past like age 12.I heard if you get really good at chess, it sort of trains your intelligence or something.

I feel like Im smarter now then when I was 18 tbhI don’t think so, IQ usually doesn’t flucuate that much, especially if you’re past like age 12.
No, I think IQ has more to do with logical and cognitive thinking. Like, you’re able to see patterns between things others would miss. It’s an innate thing, I believe.does improving memory pretty much mean improving iq? lmao
Doesn’t mean your IQ increased, it just means you gained experience and knowledge.I feel like Im smarter now then when I was 18 tbh
Yes it can in a way, fuck all of the other replies saying otherwise
I doubt you’d be able to increase your IQ by more than 5 point regardless of what you do if you’re an adult. If one could significantly change their IQ in adulthood wouldn’t we have a lot more people that have an IQ past a 120?jfl how could it meaningfully improve IQ? And if it did, are those gains on G?

Yeah well it's mental exercise like any. You won't become genius playing some chess, but it may raise your IQ by few points for sure.I heard if you get really good at chess, it sort of trains your intelligence or something.
