Can I go straight to taking dutasteride or should I start off with fin? I’ve heard ur supposed to take fin first and work your way up to dut to minimize side effects but I’ve heard some people say they took dut first and were completely fine.

Take Fin first, it reduced scalp DHT by 70 % so if you get sides on Fin , you will also get them on Dut , perhaps with even more severity, since it reduced serum DHT by 90%. Also Dut has a longer half life meaning you will likely experience these sides for longer. Only switch to Dut if no sides on Fin and it is no longer effective for you after 1 year of regular use.

Fin reduces scalp dht by 40%

Dut 0.5 mg reduces scalp dht by 51%

Dut 2.5 mg by 79%

@mole800 The answer depends on how sensitive to DHT your follicles are. Some people can maintain for decades on just fin and even regrow perfect hairlines if they were higher norwood before starting. Some people require the 80% scalp suppression to see results. It depends on how subhuman your genetics are

No 1mg Fin orally daily results in 70% scalp DHT reduction , pretty good research consensus on this , not an expert on Dut though. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/...prostate hyperplasia,to normal within 14 days.

I’ve always had really thick hair and a good hairline I have 0 Norwood right now but I’m on roids. Fin will probably be enough right?

Shame if you started with dutasteride and have it work, never realizing you could've just went with fin and have less adverse effects with the same result, right? Remember you're preferably gonna be on this stuff for your whole life, it's stupid to rush it and save a few months of trying stuff out instead of finding the right medication for you.

Serum DHT != Scalp DHT

Nobody can tell you if you will be alright. Depends on genetics. Just run max dut 2.5mg dosage to be safe

This is not how Dut/Fin works. This forum is turning into a Reddit sub where everybody just repeats BS without reading studies

I took fin for about 3 weeks then I hopped on dut, if you wanan be safe about it be on fin for like 2-3 weeks just to see if you get those 0.1% odds of side effects. but for me, and like 95% of people u wont have any sides regardless, and dont read fucking tressless bunch of retards fearmongering.

it's up to you how you wanna do it but i'd be on fin just for a lil before dut

OP, watch these videos if you want to make the best informed decision:

He goes over many studies in his videos. He does not repeat garbage he read on reddit one day

Medications affect people differently, and you're gonna have to chose one that you're gonna be using for life. So my advice was, as per my previous post, to fuck around a bit and see what fits you best. Regardless of what haircafe says is the best choice on average, or if studies seem to think that the rates of AEs are comparable. That's why I specifically raised that example which highlights that individual variation is real and you should trust YOURSELF instead of blindly following recommendations that might not fit you. What kind of study do I need to link for you to find that claim reasonable? Feels like a very modest assertion.
