can i hypertrophy masseter in calorie deficit?

title. i just have a muscle imbalance from chewing on one side obsessively. i know growing muscle usually requires a calorie surplus but i’m also trying to get skinny as shit so i’m just wondering if it’s worth chewing whilst losing weight or if that’s just brain dead counterproductive
 
yea. just have high protein intake
 
like the normal 1g per 1lb or you think a little more cause of the deficit?
0.8 to 1g per 1lb is ideal or more
