I’m a 5'10 Mexican manlet in a country where the average height is about 5'11, so I usually round up to 6 feet. At my school there’s a Latina girl who’s about 5'9.5. She has tons of options pretty much every guy wants her, including several 6'3 hmtn white guys and even one 6'6 htn guy (though he’s considered autistic and has no style).
You might think I’d have no chance, but she actually likes me back. I’m the only Latino at my school and she’s the only Latina. Her friends even ship us together. We’ve kissed three times at events, gone on a few dates, and we always hold eye contact at school.
Then we had a break because she went to Argentina for half a year, but now she’s back and things continued. I really like her, but she’s very tall. She once mentioned that she knows she’s tall . Back then I was around 5'8–5'9 without wearing lifts at that time, so she was clearly taller than me.
Now I’m almost 4 inches taller with shoes and my looks improved, and she seems even more obsessed with me. My concern is that when I take my shoes off she might think it’s weird that we’re about the same height, especially since her shoes only add about 0.5 inches.
One time we even held hands, but I felt like she gave me her hands because she knew I couldn’t easily reach her shoulders. So maybe she’s actually one of the girls who doesn’t care that much about height. Do you think this could turn into a long-term relationship? How should I play it off so the height drop isnt that big i might be able to keep 5 10.5-5 11 with sock lifts
