Domestic travel within the US. I don't have any prescription however I will likely be taking Dutastride, Bicalutamide and raloxifene.

It's hard finding actual info online.

Some say you must have a valid prescription if its a controlled substance - and none of those are controlled substances

For domestic travel within the US, you can bring non-prescription medications on a plane, but there are important caveats—especially when those medications are typically prescription-only, such as:

  • Dutasteride
  • Bicalutamide
  • Raloxifene

Here’s what you need to know:

✅ What TSA Allows

  • TSA does not require prescriptions for medications during screening.
  • You can carry pills, tablets, or capsules in carry-on or checked luggage.
  • Medications do not have to be in original containers—though it helps if questioned.

⚠️ Legal Risks (Prescription Meds Without Rx)

  • These drugs are prescription-only in the US.
  • Possessing them without a valid prescription could technically be illegal under federal or state law.
  • TSA is not a law enforcement agency, but they can refer you to airport law enforcement if suspicious.

🔒 Recommendations

  • Travel with them in clearly labeled containers, ideally the original packaging.
  • Do not carry large quantities—personal use amounts only.
  • Consider bringing a note or online proof (e.g., telehealth confirmation) if you obtained them legally via non-traditional means.
  • Be polite and discrete. Most TSA agents will not question pills unless they look suspicious or are in excessive quantities.

🧠 Summary:

  • Yes, you can likely fly domestically with those medications without being stopped, but technically you are in a legal gray area.
  • Worst case: confiscation or questioning by airport police—not likely unless something else raises suspicion.

Would you like advice on how to reduce legal risks or prepare in case you’re questioned?
