Probably if you're in a basment or have some really good curtains, if you turn off your light and there's light coming in still from outside it'd probably still affect the tret

Nah that shit only night time cause it will fuck with the sunscreen and make it less effective and cause sun burn.

I wonder if the light from the room lamp does affect the impact of it

Room lamp won't do shit cause it has no uv rays. Just apply it in the night time. Then wash your face in the morning .

So I got my previous statement wrong. Tretinoin won't fuck with the sunscreen, but will make it more susceptible to sunburn. The sunscreen will work just as effectively regardless of you taking tretinoin.

"Tretinoin increases sun sensitivity. Therefore, sun protection is vital to avoid sun damage. Tretinoin and sunscreen go hand in hand because sunscreen is mandatory on any retinoid. Not using sunscreen leaves your skin extremely vulnerable to sun damage and does more long-term harm than short-term good."

Also a lot of people have found good success using lower doses and every other day. So no need to go hard on it.

Thanks for the clarification. Imma check the website.

I tried to use it twice a week in order to not make my skin sensitive but I think that I gotta use it more often like every other day because I haven't got the 'magical glow' yet

Yea x3 a week , start off low , and moisturize 30 min -1 hr before using, then once the skin feels dry , apply tret only in the night time, then wait 30min- 1hr to let trot do the work and then apply moisturizer again.

I have been using retinol and it took like 4-6 months to see noticeable improvement. And It seemed to be better when I did it every other day then every day. I plan to switch to tret later on this year as I am now seeing diminishing results with retinol.

Also for the glow use a vitamin C serum and niacinamide cream ( vitamin b 3 cream). You can apply the niacinamide after applying the tret as a moisturizer .

And for vitamin c it can help reduce oxidative damage from the sun, but you have to be careful as some of the serums have alpha hydroxy acid which can increase sun burn risk, so that negates it. But if you find one without ingredients like alpha hydroxy acid then it can be applied before your sunscreen.

Otherwise just apply it on your non tret nights. That will help with that glow.

Thanks a lot. Would it matter a lot if I took Vitamin C as a supplement but not a serum? Or are serums a must regarding the 'glow'?

Also, should I keep sticking to %0.05 Tret?

When I applied it it improved my glow . That and your dose of Tret is a good start. Use moisturizers 30 min before and 30 min after to avoid that dry face feel.

Also you might need a few months to see visible changes . For some though it can be faster

Thanks I will consider that. What else do you do for your skincare routine?

I myself just use retinol. But will be upgrading to Tret as now am seeing diminshing results with retinol. Tret is a lot stronger so should see more results again.

Besides that I use vitamin c every other night, and vitamin b3 cream on retinol nights. I also take collagen supplementation .

I also avoid alcohol and apply sunscreen regularly every few hours. I don't work outside but even around windows sun can damage the skin.
