Can implants give lateral projection like ZSO?? Surely implants can give augmentation and define your cheekbone but can it add lateral width as well? ZSO is complicated and not a lot of surgeons do it and realistically, isn’t worth it. The great thing about ZSO is its ability to add lateral width. Can implants do the same

Gonna keep bumping till someone wi high iq responds

Yes they can but not as much.

ZSO also pulls the muscles out with the zygomatic arch, since the masseter and temporalis have some attachment.

For lateral widening over 2mm, ZSO is better and will look more natural, while an implant will look more stuck-on since the muscles aren't being moved out with it.

In thicker soft tissue/skin an implant might actually be the advantage and result in more angularity while in thinner skin people it may stick out too much and have too abrupt of a transition (or lack of transition) with the face above and below the arch.

This is based on my, so far, 5 years of high-volume, hyper-focused experience. I don't think it's ever been written online or in any book I have seen.

Do you provide ZSO for lateral cheekbone growth? Have you done it with Turkish surgeons? Because cheekbone implants generally give forward prominence whereas as you stated having lateral prominence look more natural and aesthetically pleasing

ZSO is usually done for lateral width

Got it. My case is a little bit strange because I have asymmetry on both sides of my maxilla, one side being smaller than the other. Maybe a combined approached with an expander and implants and give what I’m possibly looking for. Does the same principle apply for midface implants? In my case I also have maxillary hypoplasia and I don’t think I’d like lefort II or III as a choice but Id rather implants. Can custom implants give both forward projection AND a more “stuck on” augmented/prominent look at the same time?

I’m curious as well, I know you do consults via zoom but do you also consult in person to study someone’s harmony/features when making implants or other surgeries for the best aesthetic result?

It depends on the case but yes we can do it easily and safely with the custom system. I even have a good way to combine it with LF1 plate.

You can see me informally in Bangkok or Bali depending on the dates, or in the surgeons office in Istanbul. For some people it's worth a few K in flights and hotels just to be seen irl first. I dont think it's necessary but I have done it for a few people yes.
