Yes it is reliant on surgeon skill. Some are better are working around the nerves than others.

Nerve damage is mostly NOT CORRELATED TO SURGEON SKILL.

Nerve damage depends on your bone and how will it split. God decides how the bone splits.

Yes if the surgeon is shit at manipulating the nerve you will get fucked. But most are carefull manipulating it so no difference.

How close your nerve is to the outer wall of the mandible and the quality of the break determines most of it.

The best way to prevent is to not get extremely drastic movements

Look at this woman who paid 70k to get nerve damage

Post-op, dramatic result

5 months post op has severe nerve pain

Much later wants to sue surgeon, has chronic pain

look like pretty standard movements, wouldn't call them drastic

actually, just looked and it's 24mm pogonion (presumably includes genio). yeah, that's big.

crazy because she doesn't look that recessed and then she's still recessed after 24mm movement

how relatively big is 16mm pogonion? (10 genio, 6 bsso)

it's a larger genio and a smallish bsso

for reference i had 12mm bsso and 6mm genio (which i feel could have been a bit bigger)

but it depends on what you need
