Depends on where you live. The lowest it'd go here in M'sia is 500USDish for a month for working in FnB as a waiter or whatever in urban areas.

Rent itself is 180USD but you can live with your parents, like most people do.

I never said it was a good amount, just said that most of the times, it's enough for rent + eating healthy food.
