There's no such a thing as waking up with a perfect bite, in fact is that you'll need more work again after bimax, that's what some users sadly fail to realise, bimax or any sort of surgery is not a 1 magic bullet that changes everything.

Plus that genioplasty and braces literally play the biggest role in jaw improvment.

Only words you should hear is actually from many surgeons rather than users on this forum (this includes me and everybody else), i said surgeons as in you shouldn't only follow 1 surgeon's advice, but rather hear many out and see how many agree with eachother on the points they make.

This site has a use and that's to generate thoughtful technical considerations that you can ask different surgeons and decide which one you want to go with based on their ability to answer such specific questions. And for stuff like jaw some advice on planning movements. But even then it's mostly limited to ideas you bounce off each other in dms with a handful of people, most of the public posts are worthless garbage.

Isn't the philtrum problem more of a bimax caution? Like if your jaw is in a correct place, not too forward grown and not rly recessed, would you even need to worry about shit like chimp lip or big ass philtrum? And philtrum lengthening is more of a downgraft problem, no?

As I said, I'm not 100% sure, so just asking. I've seen pretty big maxillary movements without a BSSO and their philtrums ended up fine, also no chimp lip. Not rly sure what exactly can cause the chimp lip, though my ortho told me one of the reasons is overadvancement of the maxilla.

I've also seen results where the philtrum got noticeably bigger, but I assume it was a downgraft then. Obviously VISUALLY your philtrum will look a bit bigger due to the nose being more upturned post op, but other than that I'm not sure what else could cause it.

And my ortho also told me that normal advancements without downgrafting won't really cause a noticeable difference in the philtrum length.

I told my ortho that I would like to avoid the chimp lip and philtrum lengthening as much as possible, though looking at my surgeons results that she showed me, none of the people had longer philtrums or a chimp lip post op.

This is a serious functional and aesthetically issue. I’ve encountered at least 10 patients who’ve reported it. Neuromuscular adaption? How can it adapt. The muscle can’t relearn a motion that no longer has anatomical room, it’s impossible.

Just a quick analogy to your question.
If you lower a ceiling onto someone’s head, they can’t “adapt” to standing upright there’s no space, right? The same goes for the tongue once the geniohyoid are pulled upwards.

The limitation is structural.

This doesn’t happend every time obviously, otherwise everyone who undergoes aggressive MMA with CCW would report these issues. Unfortunately a concerning number do, which highlights how limited surgeons understanding of the tongue still is.

People in this sphere spend day in and day out trying to make themselves appear more attractive. After a while, it becomes difficult to distinguish what is true from what is not. When someone then falsely claims that a particular jaw surgeon is among the best in the business, spreading obvious misinformation about his supposedly exceptional morals, such as flying abroad to help patients or reducing prices for revision cases it matters to me. It matters because I know this is obvious lies. People are making decisions about surgery based on these claims, so I feel compelled to present the reality as it is.

It’s dangerous to have people like him in forums with a lot of neurodivergent people.
They have more literal interpretation, lower default suspicion and higher baseline trust. Basically vulnerable people that are easy to manipulate.

I came here to offer a more nuanced perspective on how this entire process works. That this whole field has A LOT of flaws.

I dont have any functional issues at all, i have a problem. And that is that i made a bad nose job years ago and i knew i needed a revision. This bothers me because i cant rush it as the surgeons i want to do it with have waiting times. I have no tongue issues or functional issues. My bite is good now, it was a direct post op problem. And yes i am bipolar. But that is not related to Surgery.

I look and function 10x after surgery. But yea my nose still bothers me extremely much. And yes braces is annoying as hell. But i barely even move any teeth at this point but my ortho want to do some micro changes and i also want it to be good since doing ortho is important for function but you prob dont think that.

Also your tongue issue is obv related to moving back your lower jaws that creates sleep apnea. You dont need to be rocket scientist to realize moving back the lower jaw will make you pharynx narrower. Unlucky bruhhh@yussimania @bossman

His issues is because he moved the tongue back with a setback, obv he gets worse everything. Its a sleep apnea speed run surgery. All the talk about forward growth and he does the opposite. Recesses his lower jaw back.

Also this is a much more dangerous surgery with a lot more functional issues then normal bimax. Its setbacks Surgery that people die from when it comes to jaw surgery(no joke)
