But when I buy it what happens? Do I buy it, give my blood sample, saliva? Do I then return it back? How does it work?

Depends on which company you go with. If you go with Ancestry, you will have to produce enough saliva to fill a tube. But with Ancestry, you only get your autosomal DNA. You don’t get your haplogroups, which are also important to know. If you are interested in knowing your haplogroups, then I would recommend LivingDNA, it’s a company that gives you a cheek swab test, which is way easier. Many people have trouble with producing saliva or they don’t do it right, so a cheek swab test will get rid of those hurdles since it’s so easy to do. Just don’t eat an hour in advance and you’re done. You can then download the raw data file and run it through IllustrativeDNA for a breakdown of your results for a clearer picture of your ancestry. It does come with a price, but it’s doable. €26,99. I have done both Ancestry and IllustrativeDNA, and I’m currently awaiting LivingDNA’s results for my haplogroups. I made my brother take the test because I was in Pakistan at the time, and since siblings have the same haplogroups, I figured I let him do it. Another plus is that I can run his raw data file through third-party tools also, and compare our results with each other. In total, you will have to wait for 4-8 weeks.

I forgot to add. Basically you receive a kit with a tube, you spit in it (or you do the cheek swab test) until you have given enough saliva to our Jewish overlords. Then in the case of a tube, you have to mix the stabilizer fluid with the saliva so that your sample can be tested on, weeks later. Then you put it in the bag it came with and drop it off at a postal service which will then ship it for you internationally. Return fee is already paid for when you order the kit so you don’t have to pay additional costs. They provide that as well. And when for some reason your sample hasn’t been received, it’s been lost or you just didn’t spit correctly, then you can request replacement kit until you do it right. For free.
