I do have a bulbous tip. How can you tell if the chin is recessed or not?

recessed maxilla=shit nose
Yeah, but for me i don't have a recessed maxilla, I just have a wide ogre nose lol. It's projected well and looks good from the side but it's upturned and too wide really.

Do not get a chin implant OP, they look fake and will cause bone resorption over time (so you lose the chin projection anyway).

Get a sliding genioplasty, they can be performed for just forward augmentation, or can be adjusted to give extra chin height or extra chin width too.

you should know

I placed my finger on top of my chin and it matches with the tip of my lip so I guess I'm fine in the chin department. How do one fix crooked lips?

Acquaintance of mine got it, now a complain of his, is his lower lip is more retruded/"rolled in" as a result of the genio .

That didn't happen to me during mine, did he get a big advancement? Also possible this happened if his chin didn't get angled down as it was moved forward, which good surgeons wont do they will give it some angle downwards always like this:

His chin was visibly moved upwards, that's why the rotation might have made lower lip going inwards, thus giving it the retruded appearance.

But I don't find this is a bad thing, I think a lower lip that's not "hanging" is better for harmony in most males.

Agree, might be because of the surgeon, here are a forum thread where people discuss exact same issue:

I read about it on other threads, seems to be pretty common, I wonder if it might be due to a surgeon's incompetence, or if it's intentional.

That kind of stuff I'm posting here SHOULD BE READ BY ANYONE CONSIDERING JAW SURGERY/GENIOPLASTY, don't trust your surgeon blindly.

'I read that some surgeons now use the V-Y suturing technique when doing a genio to avoid this.'

This is true also, my surgeon cut the muscle during genioplasty to make sure it wouldn't fuck up my lower lip/submental area.

Every procedure can fuck you up.
Best way to lower the risk of that is doing a lot of research before deciding on surgery and also choosing experienced surgeon

Yeah maybe his didn't cut it like that. I wonder if lip HA fillers might help in a situation where lower lip has become too thin.
