can u shave and use retin a the same day?

if I shave in the morning and retin a at night, my face is usually dry for a day or 2 after shaving

The retinol i use comes in a form of a moisturizer, i usually use it at night after a shave,I also feel like it absorbs better.
idk what form you use so i cant say what effects it will have.
