Can you maintaing your muscle gains only with protein food?

Or do you need always workout rest of your life to maintain them..
 
protein alone doesn't prevent catabolism. or promote hypertrophy

You have to workout for the rest of your life.

But there's a minimum amount of stimulus you need each week, so you don't have to go every day. Two 30 minute full body workouts a week is enough to maintain if you lift heavy with all your strength and your protein and nutrition is good.
