So, what are canines and how do they affect your face?
I will be mainly referring to the upper canines when talking about canines and their attractiveness, but will talk about the lower canines as well.

Canines (otherwise known as fangs or cuspids) are the set of teeth next to the Central and Lateral incisor teeth. They are usually sharp and slightly longer than the other teeth in your mouth (this may vary), and are used to tear apart tough foods and pierce through food easier than your other teeth to aid in chewing and ultimately digestion. Basically, they are important to human digestion. In the below human teeth chart, I have highlighted the canines if you are too stupid to understand what they are by now, along with a normal photo.

Now that we have gone over the basics of what they are and what they do, we can go over the important stuff. As said above, canines are incredibly important for chewing. They provide humans a way to pierce through tougher meats and foods, which is important biologically as the inability to properly chew and tear through tough foods is a huge negative health indicator. You see this in many cases as messed up teeth can throw off a person's entire face and make them look disgusting.

Lets look at the following two photos, and lets see which is more attractive: Good canines or bad ones.

See the difference? The smile on the left gives off a more charismatic, dominant, and powerful look than the smile on the right because of just the single difference that the left smile's canine teeth are more prominent.

What is the reason prominent canines are more attractive??

The answer simply comes down to health indicators. Biologically, us humans are driven to seek mates with the best health indicators so our offspring don't get cucked with terrible genetics/indicators. Bad health indicators, even if they're simple or seemingly small, can make someone much less attractive.

Due to the fact humans are like this, prominent canines are obviously the better option. A mate with prominent canines can tear through and pierce tougher foods with their teeth like meat much easier. This immediately gives off a more dominant aspect of their health. This ties in with the fact that small teeth is a sign of bad health indicators as well, showing the person hasn't grown enough or has or had a lack of nutrients when growing up. On top of that, prominent canines are usually due to overall well development of bone mass and facial structure, as the teeth are better aligned and are where they're supposed to be. In between sharpness versus length of canines, sharpness wins out for being more important for attractiveness.

One thing to note, incredibly enlarged canines are a bad thing. What I'm talking about here are slightly above average sharpness and length when compared to the rest of the teeth, not oversized fangs. The same way that blunt canines are bad, too large/elongated fangs shows signs of underlying health and dental problems. We want the fangs to be the same length or just a tad longer than the Central Incisors, aka your two front teeth.

How to get prominent/sharp canines?

Obvious answer is to just be born with them :feelswhy:, but besides that, let's go over some options:

- Veneers
Veneers are small shells/layer placed on a tooth to make it seem longer, or sharper in the case of the canine teeth. These are essentially glued onto the fangs with a strong adhesive. Veneers, if not cracked or chipped, last multiple years (5-15 years depending on what type of material the veneers are made from). After the veneers are worn out, either get new ones, or maybe you'll be old enough to where you don't give a fuck about how you look anymore.

- Tooth Reshaping/Contouring
Tooth Contouring is a dental procedure done where a dentist will shave down your tooth to provide a better shape/aesthetic to your overall teeth. This can be done to specifically your fangs to sharpen them, which would give you a more charismatic and powerful look. This is a permanent procedure, as tooth enamel does not grow back, so be careful. This is not viable if your fangs are already small as it will just take away more enamel, making it appear even smaller.

- Bonding
Bonding is a dental procedure done where a dentist will bond a composite material/resin that looks similar to tooth enamel onto your teeth to shape it. It is essentially the opposite of the tooth reshaping/contouring procedure which takes away/shaves your teeth, with the bonding procedure instead adding onto the tooth. This procedure is not permanent and only lasts 5-10 years.

- DIY Tooth Shaving

The retard's tooth reshaping. Basically you shave your teeth down yourself. This is permanent and definitely not something you should do if you don't know what you're doing, and even if you do, it's still retarded. Even though I say that, I will look more into it and possibly make another post about it in the future and maybe do it myself if I'm confident and stupid enough in the moment. Not recommended.

TLDR: While having prominent canines seems like a small trait, they passively give you a more dominant and charismatic look
