I’ve been thinking about this lately, and I’m genuinely unsure. When I was younger, I didn’t have a lack of female attention, but looking back, I realize I didn’t understand female psychology or social cues. I’ve had girls try to touch me or stare at me in ways I didn’t really understand at the time.
For example, in 9th grade, there was this tall girl I kind of knew, and after talking to her once at an assembly, she grabbed my hand and made me sit with her. There was also this other girl who seemed to always point out how I looked better than my male friend, at least in terms of facial features. But despite these things, I never knew how to respond, and I’m still unsure if that was just some form of interest or if I just didn’t get it.
Now I’m wondering if I was just lacking the social skills to pick up on what was happening or if there’s something else to it. So, am I really ugly, or is it more about the way I interact with people?
