Title. I see way too much conflicting opinions on this, and I don’t really care about gym or athletic optimization, I just want to optimize my facial leanness and aesthetics

Agree but what about rice and pasta and shit?
Pasta has Gluten which causes inflammation and its generally bad even if you are tolerant to it, I still eat it from time to time.
Its also true that a lot of nutritionist say its bad for you also because pasta isnt really a thing found in nature

Fair what carb sources should I focus on besides just potatoes, fruits and honey? I hear getting around 200g is pretty good for hormones and shit

Ive heard many takes about diet on this forum, so im not sure what to recommend. Personally I think that as long as you get enough proteins, avoid excessive and refined sugar (eat only fruit and honey), avoid gluten, avoid casein (when possible) and eat enough fermented food, its a good diet. Stuff like eggs and beef should preferably be from grass fed and bio sources.

Some other takes ive read on this forum are to; avoid oxalates (antinutrients, which potatoes also contain), avoid lectins (type of proteins in some legumes), fibers are not necessary (honestly they feed the gut microbiome and I think fibers are important personally) and carbs in general are bad or not important/necessary.
 
How are carbs a looksmin? In terms of bloat? They dont cause bloat which is extracellular accumulation of water. They fill the cell themselves with glycogen which makes your muscles look fuller and this looks good anywhere on the body, makes you look younger because as you get older your body has a harder time saturating glycogen stores.

For aging itself tho, its debatable. Carbs stimulate growth and reproduction but this accelerates aging and degradation as well. Its why eating little calories makes you live longer and "look younger" (Bryan Johnson) but at the cost of live quality

They are literally the only way to increase testosterone levels and igf-1 out of proportion how they are a looksmin

Not even if you eat 1 kg of meat can you get the same anabolic effects

This in particular is why I asked, there seems to be two camps, the hardcore ancestor diet zealots and then people saying this.

I think a carnivore ancestor diet is overrated because honestly humans post hunter gatherer era mog lol, all the Greeks and other great empires thrived off carbs and they destroy cavemen

all these carnivorous copers are forgetting that they grew up as children eating cereals, bread, rice, sugars and snacks. All foods with a high glycemic index that make you grow

I mean they still would have grown if they ate low amounts of those foods but I see your point. I don’t think eating cereal and shit is good but I do wanna give rice a try lol and see if eating a lot of rice does something to my hormones
