They bloat you because of water retention. I am eating 80% carbs because I am on a soft food diet post surgery and still nearing my bf% goal.

Carbs and lots of water = bloat
Water reduces bloat, not the other way around.
Little water intake -> water retention -> bloat
Huge water intake -> no water retention -> no bloat
 
my pic is me on high carb. Carbs shouldn't bloat you, maybe extremely high salt but tbh fat or corticosteroids are the only legit bloaters

I have followed bodybuilding for years. When they are dieting down before a show they drink gallons of water to get their body into flushing mode and then cut out water and increase carbs they pull the remaining water into the muscle

If you’re prone to bloating. ONLY eat carbs pre and post workout. Avoid candies, sodas & fruit juices. When eating carbs pre and post workout go for salads and sweet potatoes. Drink 2-3 liters of water per day.
