Germany used to have decent wages for manual laborers especially in Bavaria but those days have come to an end with 'minijobs' that pay 1 euro per hour, if you don't take them up they remove your benefits.

You do not know what you are talking about. As a software developer(average one) in Romania, which is a shithole by all standards you end up making 3.5k eur/month after a few years(like 2-3). Many companies offer stocks, beside the salary and for example one friend who works for Ubisoft has 40k eur of stocks which he will be able to cash in after 3 years(he has 5 months left).

The living cost is dirt cheap here. For example my living costs are 1.5k/month and do whatever i want, eat good food, go out etc. If i were to starvemax i probably could get by on 600 eur/month eating nothing but home cooked chicken and mushrooms/potatoes, netflix and reading instead of going out.

You're telling me a romanian company is paying you 60k euros after 2-3 years? i find that very hard to believe. I'm in the UK and 60k is roughly what devops are paid and similarly experienced roles that require roughly 4-5+ years minimum and our currency is far better than romanian lei so that just makes the difference even bigger. What languages do you know? obviously these salaries are realistic if you are smart and know lots of languages or know desired languages to an advanced level with years of experience but that certainly isn't 2-3 years starting from nothing.

C++ is a complex language that takes a long time to master. I recall talking about this with someone else and the consensus was that it's something you eventually transfer to, not start out with. I.E start with web-dev or something entry level and then 5 years later you slowly migrate to C++. How are you going to learn C++ in only 2-3 years? you need to know it for 5+ years minimum to get jobs for this role/field. And yes UK is dogshit for coding/tech, especially outside of london, you're paid peanuts. I can see why they returned, cheap COL in 2nd world country like Romania and 1st world country salary and you are golden. I used to know a romanian who was a NEET but had 500k or so in crypto, that's like 2m in the west and can live a lavish life forever.
I can believe you now that you mentioned C++, usually people in these roles are actual developers and not meme jobs where they don't really do anything, as far as i know C++ is involved in actual game development and a lot of other complex aspects of development so it makes sense the salaries are higher than your average code monkey. 2 years does seem light though, in the tech world, 2-3 years is nothing, any advanced tech jobs usually require 4-5 minimum but hey it's always possible.
