Brass knuckles, Knuckle dusters, fist fillers or Weighted gloves are the best weapon you carry in a gist fight. They are legal and permitted for use in most states in U.S if someone hits you first. Easier to acquire, less likely to get an aggravated assault charge compared to knife or gun, highly concealeable. You need a little bit of practice to use them but they are still brutally effective. One swing at the thief and it's over

They're okay but they're not much of a deterrent if someone wants to attack you. If you have something else you can pull it out and it levels the playing field. You don't want to have knuckles against a guy with a knife. Obviously, the best solution would be to run but that isn't always an option.

Yes the best weapon for deterrence is an empty gun. Using it can you get In a lot of trouble but you can use it to get out of situations easily they ate not a firearm but a good to have
