Most people would say that pic 1 is far too gone and the follicles are dead/hypoxic for too long and never recover. I have seen cases like this especially with transgenders who simaltenously shoot their testosterone and all derivates and go on estrogen a compound which is highly anabolic towards hair follicles to recover hair that most would assume far too gone.

Unfortunately for those of us not willing to castrate ourselves only DHT blockers are an option, but I think this highlights that if in the future there was a drug or gel that could topically block test or apply estrogen without going systemic thus not effeminizing you it would be the biggest leap in saving hair since finasteride.
