does anyone know if chewing with incisors/premolars helps with lower jaw recession? someone told me thats what they did to fix their slight recession. im slightly recessed but not heavily and was wondering if any of yall tried it.

and does hard mewing in the back of palate (when ur young, not 30) cause ur midface to become longer? people in orthotropics reddit mentioned it ruined their midface by hard mewing in the back of their palate, meanwhile someone told me it helped them w ccw rotation.
in theory regardless if its cope or not wouldn't putting pressure on the back of the palate tilt the maxilla forwards and down? and doing the opposite would tilt the maxilla up?

Pushing with the back of your palate will definitely make your face longer, here's why:

The rotation of your maxilla plays a significant role in your midface; the more up and foward your maxilla is rotated (aka ccw rotation) the shorter your midface will be. The more downward its rotated the longer your midface

If you push up on the back part of your palate it'll rotate the entire maxilla downwards, which will then make your midface longer.

If you want ccw rotation you need to focus upwards pressure on the front portion of the palate

the whole idea is to exert equal pressure with each third of the tongue

any evidence of this?

Logic;
Think of it like this, your maxilla is like a seesaw, if one part (back of maxilla) goes up, the other (front) goes down. If your rear maxilla rises from the pressure, the front goes down, pulling the rest of your face down and giving you cw rotation

I mean it makes sense

So which is better then putting pressure on ur front palette or the back?
