Adesanya won't be able to cope with Du Plessis' strength and grappling. His tdd is very overrated and only works when he's up against the cage fighting mediocre grapplers like Vettori and Whittaker.
Blachowicz laid out the blueprint for beating him and Du Plessis has the strength and grappling credentials to emulate that.

Even that low-IQ orc Vettori was able to takedown Adesanya and take his back. Du Plessis 100% submits Adesanya in that scenario. Adesanya has been taken down countless times by poor wrestles who offer no submission threat whatsoever and are just happy to hang onto his back or a single leg.
Du Plessis, unlike anyone Adesanya has ever fought, actually has good top control and offers submission threats from any position.

Yeah, he might be able to get away with that by sprawling against an undersized Whittaker who never even bothered to set up a body triangle but Du Plessis will actually keep him down for the rest of the round, if not submit him.
The grappling exchanges will not even be close. Du Plessis will manhandle him on the ground.

Vettori had Adesanya pinned against the cage and was only able to hold onto a single leg and couldn't do anything with it because he's a mediocre grappler with very little offensive wrestling.
Du Plessis had Till in a similar spot against the cage in the first round of their fight and was just able to swoop him and secure a takedown up against the cage.
Till probably weighs more than Adesanya, who hardly cuts any weight to get to 185, so it's safe to say that Du Plessis is a lot stronger than Vettori and would thus be able to take Adesanya down with relative ease, even up against the cage.

Vettori took Adesanya's back and then made an incredibly basic mistake by not connecting his legs when he attacked the choke. Adesanya didn't even have to do anything skilful to escape it, he was literally able to just turn and get out because Vettori was not controlling his body.
When Du Plessis had Till's back, he immediately set up a body triangle and controlled him with ease. Just like Sterling did against Yan, Makhachev did against Volkanvoski etc.
Adesanya won't be able to escape it either especially since his grappling is inferior and he is the smaller man in terms of strength.
