I think they usually mean a short midface. A long face overall can be alright but usually a short and wide midfsce is preferable to a long and narrow one. It extremely rare for an attractive man to have a long and narrow midface

Additionally he's squinting in the right pic, proper hairstyle, face looks more angular(and less bloated) and lightening is better which frauds him into a more attractive person. Also idts this is result of cheekbone reduction only (too lazy to measure ratios )
