the right side of my jaw is much more defined than my left side and im thinking its because ive always chewed on my right side,
so would chewing mastic gum on the left side fix the asymmetry?

im in puberty btw so bone remodelling thru chewing should be possible

Sleeping on the side you wish to develop is also crucial.

ayo i think ur right
i actually sleep on my more defined side as well

alongside sleeping on the undeveloped side do u think i should only chew that side or chew both, but just a bit more on the the less developed?
ive heard many ppl say to make sure to chew on the developed side as well since it might cause more assymetries but im unsure

I have similar issues with my jaw. Please let me know if you have any success with gum and such.

I am no expert but focus on the sleeping and chew both sides imo.

ill update in a month or so

for now ill try sleeping on my undeveloped side and chew mastic for an 1hr - 2hrs daily depending on my mood
ill try 10 bites on my undeveloped side then 5 bites on my developed sides and just alternate like that during the hour

might honestly just try exclusively chewing on the undeveloped side tho since my other side looks well and ion wanna ruin it by masster hypertrophy, ill think about it a bit more then decide ig

That’s cope. Muscles are cross linked so even if u chew on one side the other side will also develop equally. It’s just genetics that made one side of ur face more developed and it’s normal

you might be wrong but you might also be right

im going through alot of forums n im seeing the same thing everywhere, the people with asymmetrical faces ALWAYS favoured one side whether it be thru sleep or chewing and that side is more developed

im going to be trying out a few things for a month anyways and i can tag u in the update

ok yeah i think ur right, the asymmetry is unlikely to be from a muscle imbalance.
im pretty sure its because of a slight crowding of my teeth on my lower jaw, i used to have 2 crooked lower incisors, on the left and right side, but the RIGHT one straightened out and fit into the palate and well my right side is the more developed one.
the left lower incisor is still slightly crooked so im hoping that hard chewing on my left side might expand my bigonial and the incisor will fit into the palate like the one on the right which should actually fix the asymmetry.

there is a lot of anecdotal evidence saying that chewing should expand ur lower palate so im gonna try it, but im thinking its actually true since ive always chewed on my right side and the right side expanded.

U chewed on ur right side because it developed first so u got used to it. Basically ur genetics forced u to chew a certain way. This isn’t bad, it’s normal. Just like ur used to writing with one hand (usually right hand)

maybe
but i doubt it was genetics because i used to get cavities a lot on my left side so my parents were taking me to get fillings or something so i started exclusively using the right bcs i hated the dentist

Oh makes sense then. U should check if its ur masseters that’s overdeveloped on one side or bone. Just feel with ur hands and it should be obvious

yeah my right masseter feels massive in comparison to my left, does that mean chewing should be able to help?

Possibly can’t say for sure. Maybe ur one side naturally has more muscle mass.

Yo bro I'm just making sure but Ur not trolling me right?

I've looked a bit more and ppl say that the side u sleep on is the side where Ur growth is stunted? Isn't that the opposite of what I want?

I don't know what other people say. Side I sleep on more is more developed.

Did you do a massage afterwards and if u did, do u only do masseter or also the temporal is?
One masseter was smaller so i started chewing more on that side and eventually chewed evenly. That's all I did

Wtf it's the opposite

The side I slept on in my teens has a more narrow jaw
Have you ever had crowding in Ur jaw on the narrow side?

I found an article stating that our natural sleeping position is on the side so the asymmetry might not have anything to do with sleeping position

Lose weight and start slaying again HTN lookinass. This forum isn't good for you.
This forum is the only thing that got me back to leanmaxing.

And I also wouldn't have been with my last gf if it wasn't for this forum.

Fuck
Ima have to look into the effect of side sleeping more tmrw then
Sad shit
I mean it's just he said she said in this forum i dont really know if it affects anything

But I imagine if you can thumbpull your face, sleeping on the side could affect face jaw bone.

Nah I'm not looking on this forum mostly
It might surprise u but there's actually quite a number of studies done about these types of things.
Also Reddit has some anecdotal evidence too so I just look everywhere I can ig, this website is pretty shit for that kinda stuff due to the sheer amount of trolls tho

If it's what I imagine it is wouldn't that help with like forward growth or something?

@cutie @HarrierDuBois @LMEverything
ok so i js had a great thought that might also be a reason for asymmetries...
itS THE NECK MUSCLES, i actually have 2 monitors but one of the monitors is on the side so for hours everyday i look to one side and not at all to the other when i am on my computer and the muscles that get used are also on the more developed side,
i might incorporate neck muscle training on my weaker side to see if it makes a difference

did u guys also use ur neck muscles more on ur more developed side?

Yes I noticed this as well. Another thing I noticed is your bite. If you have a tooth/ molar that is extra long on one side it will make your bite uneven
