do I chew chewing gum with my mouth open or closed. some people say that open mouth chewing is better because it avoids buccinator hypertrophy, while others say that closed mouth chewing is better. Also I chew my food with my mouth closed, is it optimal?

Mike mew is more than aware that buccinator hypertrophy should be acoided if at all possible and yet he still chews large boluses with his mouth closed. He has a video in which he speaks about the buccinator at one stage.
