CHICAGO, USA – FEBRUARY 3, 2025 Officers were called to the Albany Terrace Apartments in the 3000 block of West 21st Place for a domestic violence case. When they knocked on the door where the noise was coming from, a man ran out at them holding a knife. The officers didn’t hesitate long and opened fire. But the man died of his injuries in hospital.

He has been identified as 58-year-old Timothy Glaze. Neighbors spoke mostly in good terms about him. One neighbor said Timothy had lived in the house for over 15 years and nothing like this had ever happened.

He was probably not a violent person, but once he couldn’t hold back his emotions and it cost him his life. The incident sparked a massive debate about the authority of police officers. Some people think they should have responded with non-lethal means such as a taser

Was it justified?

A bit too trigger happy? Maybe, probably.
But I’m not gonna bet my life on a taser tbh.

@ me next time you fuck (jk ily)

I hate police but this was justified. 21 foot theory exists for a reason. This was LESS than 21 feet. He held the knife in a pick grip which shows obvious intent to cause bodily harm. Taser/LL doesn't always work, especially if its a tweaker (which it probably was)

Never bring a knife to a gun fight.

Takes a while for the brain to switch off kill mode when it believes your life is in danger. Think it can be up to 10 seconds or something. Time isn't the same.
