Quite strange, he clearly needs way more advancement.

Distraction osteogenesis until you get sufficient advancement and then a final bimax to put everything in the right place is the correct course of treatment for this. But I think Dr. Coceancig was the best at that, and he is now gone.

Definitely not enough distraction. Probably a super conservative inverted L too. I'm actually baffled.

I totally agree, but then again most human beings that roaming the earth are quite simply idiots, The best example i can think of is when people use or doing stuff without know what's inside or what it could do. Whereas I like to do a little research into what i'm doing all the time no matter what to make sure it's not compromising or harming me.

As someone who is still in the planning phase of bimax, yeah.

Talking to some of the people who've had it makes me feel like a ton of the really bad and underwhelming results are due to people not doing any research about how the surgery works, like at all. Also going to surgeons who mainly care about correcting functional issues only, with aesthetics as a secondary consideration.

So many examples of people on reddit who underwent the surgery, having no real understanding of what their movements were and how they actually affect the outcome. Also plenty of people who just go with the first surgeon they see and trust their word as law, rather than actually researching on their own what their problem is.

TJR would have been the method imo, OP had DO done anyway but his bones were "too thin" so they had to do inverted L so less rotation which he shouldve had as his pogonion advancement was 2cm (remember my autistic ramblings?) - his doctors failed him aesthetically (he obviously didnt wanna look recessed hence the title) did the most conservative treatment for "muh air way" also wtf is that genio and linear advancement with no rotation lol

the more i analyse it the more i see how terrible he got done

severe icr or micrognathia should just completely bite the bullet and replace their ramus with the prosthetic for ramus height to allow for more projection

If I were him I would just yolo and go to the doctor that would do the most advancement humanely possible. Doctor probably did what he could, the dude needed like 4 cm advancement and I don't even think that's possible. He will probably need implants and fillers too tbh. Still health-wise I think the surgery did a lot for him.

true, as i said his baseline was basically hell, so yeah he had a “ascension” but if you part from a negative and end up in 0 it looks like you did nothing
