chin implant vs genioplasty

looking at a chin implant, but im aware genioplasty terramogs

im thinking of a chin implant purely because

• 3x less than genioplasty cost wise
• i can get the implant around december 2025 (5 months away) - genio would be a year or two later if i got it
• will probably transition to genioplasty years later, as its more permanent, im 18 and entering very important times, i aint tryna be ugly

thoughts?

if anyone wants to see pictures of my chin rn lmk, i believe my chin is solely the issue, not the maxilla nor mandible, no bite issues, the issue is literally just chin projection, thats it.

Wouldnt genioplasty be unnecessary if your chin is only behind your lips by like 10mm?

Ngl I’m on the same position, my chin to philtrum is ideal and I’m kinda scared that a genioplasty would fuck it, esp since my philtrum length is surprisingly ideal even knowing for my short midface

my philtrum length is suprisingly ideal too, my whole chin to philtrum ratio is off though because the chin is smaller.

Genios arent that expensive but I’d save Ngl if knowing it doesn’t fuck me up

Neither is temporary, even though implant is higher chance of becoming temporary

I think there’s a genioplasty that can do vertical lengthening if I’m not wrong, I’d wait for a genioplasty tbh, it’s not that expensive. Probably just around 8k
