I am thinking of maxxing out my chin ups to 30 clean reps then going onto pull ups. I think the fact that they are easier will lead to more muscle growth.

Anyone good at them have any tips? Thanks.

No chin ups for your recessed chin.

Work into one arm chin up and one arm pull ups instead

They hit the regions of the latissimus dorsi a bit differently, while also having different levels of biceps brachii activation. That's mostly it. What would you like to know?

Doing both is best. Currently only doing pull ups due to past injury though.

Instead of cranking out 30 reps i suggest go for weighted pull ups at around 12 to 15 reps max.

Ofc just do what you can if you don t have weights.
