It's hard to not get angry or atleast frustrated at these videos. A reverend minister and the head of the church pope Francis himself spitting in thr face of tradition especially considering that Christianity has been burning people at the stake for centuries standing true to it's ideals and virtues but now they have realized that there ain't no money to be made doing this so they switched. This also reminds me of the recent welcome of taylor swift in Brazil where they projected an image of Taylor swift T shirt on Christo Redeemer statue

Here we have christ in thr symbolic pose of crucifixion enduring thr most violent and excruciating suffering known to mankind and he has been commercialized. Capitalism has won over Christianity. Cultural degradation has no bearing on the validity of Christianity. We are a fallen people and always have been. I have no idea why this is supposed to make your faith in Jesus Christ any less. How silly. Of all trials and tribulations to go through, these are the things that make you lose faith?! Wow!

Also, I’m not Catholic so I don’t need to be defending the pope here but they didn’t approve same sex marriage. They were blessing gay people who wanted to repent and live a holier life, iirc.

Yes I understand that Christianity is not a cultural phenomenon that the teachings and principles of Christianity transcend culture and are not dependent on societal trends or norms and it's grounded in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ but when society experiences significant moral decline, tbh it makes it harder to live by those values and set a positive example.

Cultural degradation like this often makes me feel like its a constant distraction from my faith.
